OUR JOURNEY TO CREATING FREEDOM & BALANCE

I have attended accreditation courses in narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy as well as psychoanalytic therapy. My Masters dissertation focused on experiences of parents raising a child diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) in South Africa- encompassing their unique challenges and coping strategies. I am truly passionate about creating an inclusive environment and finding ways to support families in this predicament and offer support groups to families.

THE HUMMINGBIRD

Hummingbirds are symbols of lightness and joy. Those who have a hummingbird as a totem are thought to be playful, adaptable, and can combat negativity with ease. They also serve as good reminders to live life to the fullest and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Hummingbirds are very intelligent animals in general, with a memory span that rivals that of an elephant. The anecdote above from World of Hummingbirds shows that hummingbirds not only know who keeps stocking the feeder, but they also have their ways of trying to communicate with us.

The hummingbird spirit animal symbolizes the enjoyment of life and
lightness of being. Those who have the hummingbird as a totem are invited to enjoy the sweetness of life, lift up negativity wherever it creeps in and express love more fully in their daily endeavors. This fascinating bird is capable of the most amazing feats despite
its small size, such as traveling great distances or being able to fly backwards. By affinity with the hummingbird, those who have this bird as totem may be encouraged to develop their adaptability and resiliency while keeping a playful and optimistic outlook.

OUR PASSION

I am passionate about developing the field of psychology and hope to bring positive change to South Africa within the mental health sector by enabling and inspiring children, adolescents, families, adults, and communities to create more fulfilling lives.

OUR FOCUS
